I smiled at her, well I had considered the thought before. But I couldn’t sound so eager to her; I mean I wanted to be like her, I didn’t have a choice. I acted like I was pissed, well I was pissed the way she asked, because she took it so personal and gave this long speech I didn’t care about. All I wanted was to be like her. I was happy all the same, no need for me sitting around and waiting for someone to bring stuff for me, now I could look after myself.

My major problem was how to tell her I accepted without looking so excited about the matter. School work or my grades weren’t issues to be bothered about, I mean who gets raped and tops the class at the end?

I told my family friend about the deal, but she didn’t say a word, I felt I was doing the right thing. I got to the
room that evening and told my roommate I’d try it and if it doesn’t pay, I’d back down. She then told me I had to meet her boss, who will give me the membership necklace. She asked again if I was sure with my decision. I told her yes.

On getting to her boss’ place, I figured the woman who she had introduced to me as her mum was her boss, *in my mind I’m like, most people are not what they present themselves to be* the woman welcomed me warmly and gave me food. She then explained that my roommate was her adopted daughter and she’s also her boss, she then said she admired my courage of wanting to help them “build an empire”. The conversation got very interesting; she gave me rules and said everything we made from our outings belonged to us. My major concern was how she made her profit since she was always home.
